African Artificial Intelligence Lab (AfriAI Lab)

There is a notable surge in the adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) across Africa, offering new opportunities for inclusive and sustainable development. AI technologies are being integrated into various sectors, such as health care, agriculture and education, to enhance services and outcomes. However, to fully realize the potential of AI in Africa, it is crucial to address challenges related to infrastructure, technical capacity, awareness and responsible development and use of AI.

This project seeks to scale up and amplify the impact achieved so far by the African AI Lab (AfriAI Lab) in Tanzania. The AfriAi Lab will create a workspace, support innovators and students, conduct capacity building and exploratory research, and contribute evidence for AI policymaking in Tanzania.
